Each position is for a minimum period of 12 months commencing in November 2009. Positions are on a voluntary basis and will involve an ongoing commitment of 10-15 hours per week. Applicants must be aged between 14 and 30 years old but age is irrelevant if you're within this age bracket. Simply click on the position titles below to view a more detailed position description:

International Community Arts Gathering
by Peter Keelan
It starts out with you internally and silently humming that Paul Kelly melody in the back of your mind ...'from little things, big things grow' ... except that this melody round has been growing louder since a project I was involved with in Malawi, Africa, in 2001.
In 2008 I received a professional development grant from CAN WA to explore an idea which has been in the memory banks since that time.
This idea has focussed on producing a gathering, to provide a unique development opportunity to all Australian CCD practitioners. This pursuit has been inspired by many conversations, observations and practical experiences, over a twenty year span.
The three week professional development resulted from $4733 in funding, yet as the links and conversations started to flow, I quickly realised that this Gathering would require further research, and involvement of a larger group of people.
Indeed, at the end of writing the document below, I realised that I had only touched the surface of communication and conversation which this event requires.
What I can affirm to be conclusive is the following:
There is overwhelming national and international interest, and active support and encouragement, for an International Community Arts Gathering to be produced in Australia. The breadth of recognition that such a Gathering is long overdue has been overwhelming and inspiring.
So, where to from here?
Since acquitting the grant, I have continued to listen to a myriad of fascinating feedback from CCD people all over the world. The concept seems to have hit a positive nerve!
Now we now have a group of people forming a board and ongoing conversations being fired around the world via email. And its all emanating from the ‘bush' ... Denmark, in the southwest of WA.
I look forward to a continuing conversation, one which has already commenced, and has now filtered into the dot points in the document which follows.
If you read the document and are inspired to become a part of this unique project, I will look forward to hearing from you, especially as we start to frame the picture of where we are heading, and what the scenery might look like along the way. In the true spirit of community arts, community cultural development ... every voice will be heard and valued.
