Upcycled Jewellery – morning workshop
We are fortunate to have visiting artist, Kari Hall to facilitate an upcycled jewellery workshop. In this session participants will get to design and create their own jewellery out of recycled tins and plastic containers.
Tin is a wonderfully soft and versatile material, while plastic is very durable and easy to work with. Together they’re the perfect pairing to make earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets…… you name it. The creative possibilities are endless!
Kari will share examples from her own practise that you can use as a guide or you may have ideas of your own that you would like to explore… it’s entirely up to you.
This workshop is suitable for adults of all abilities and no previous experience is required.
At the end of the workshop participants will take home their own, original piece as well as perhaps the inspiration to keep creating more!
All materials will be provided, although if there is something special you would like to bring along to work with (patterned paper, buttons, sea glass etc) you are most welcome to do so.
We are running a morning and afternoon session on the same day. These two sessions will be covering the same content, please only register for one.
Covid-19 precautions – please do not attend if you are feeling unwell with cold or flu symptoms.
This project is part of the Waste to Art program and is proudly presented by Environment Centre NT and Darwin Community Arts. Thank you to City of Darwin for supporting our activity.
