Happy Snaps Of Timor-Leste
Vicki Kerrigan and Kate Sieper have the great pleasure of inviting you to the opening night of Viva! Happy Snaps of Timor-Leste at CCAE Gallery in Harriet Place, Darwin from 6pm on the 19th of March 2010.
Timor-Leste is the world's newest nation - it is also Asia's poorest nation - struggling with a lack of infrastructure, health care, education and industry. This exhibition reveals that the fledgling nation is also one of incredible spirit and truly stunning natural beauty - and as Timor-Leste finds it's place in the world, 10 years on from independence, these photographs celebrate the joy and strength and vitality of Darwin's near neighbour. Viva, Timor-Leste.
The limited edition photographs in the exhibition are for sale, proceeds going to the charity Life, Love and Health which works in Timor-Leste on water, sanitation, agriculture and school projects, to name a few. It is dedicated to building local capacity for the future while also immediately benefiting the lives of the Timorese.
We hope the photographs will inspire Australians to turn to Timor Leste as a travel destination, and to experience first-hand the incredible natural beauty of the place, and the incredible welcome of its people.
To that end, and thanks to the enormous generosity of our sponsors, we will also be auctioning two return Darwin/Dili AirNorth tickets.
Please join us on the 19th of March from 6pm at CCAE Gallery, 2/2 Harriet Place, Darwin for the opening night - or drop by and experience the spirit of Timor-Leste before the exhibition closes on the 1st April.
We look forward to seeing you there and please, bring your family and friends too.
